Doolittle Art Auction

An art auction to benefit Foxboro's, MA, non-profit nursing home, the Doolittle Home, was held at the Foxboro Country Club March 15 and was a big success. I was happy I donated a painting for this event. Members and friends of the Foxboro Art Association donated over 40 pieces. This is my painting, from my dune series, on the block.

El Diablo made me do it!

I just wanted to share my latest drawing inspired by a Halloween costume I wore years ago.

Broadway Joe

I had a nice Super Bowl weekend working at the Artist's Studio and Gallery at Patriot Place. It was also productive 'cause I worked on this painting—another one for the Cape Dune series. Yes, it was quiet at Patriot Place, where Gillette Stadium is, at the home of the New England Patriots.  I did get home in time to see Seattle clobber the Broncs. The highlight of the game might have been Broadway Joe in his fur coat.

It's not all painting, having to mind the store, with people browsing and sometimes purchasing this or that and testing my money math skills. I am happy to say someone bought one of my colored pencil drawings, "Martini Man", as a Valentine present for their husband.

Painting Demo for the Foxboro Art Association

My painting demo for the Foxboro Art Association was a success. Everything went smoothly–my easel didn't collapse during the demo. I did a painting from my Provincetown Dunes series. I've been painting in acrylics lately and there was a lot of interest in the medium. I'm doing another demo for the Norwood Art Association in May, looking foreword to it.

New Works

I have three hamburger heads showing at Gallery 9.  Also, here is a painting I did at the Artist's Studio and Gallery at Patriots Place this last weekend.

Boston International Fine Art Show

I went to this show this last weekend and was very impressed with the art exhibited. Go to fineartboston.com to see all the galleries that participated. It was a good night of art browsing of contemporary art to a million dollar piece by Renoir.

Boston Strong

Ann and I donated this chair we painted for our town's Recreation Department in Walpole MA for an auction to raise money for the town's art studio, Studio East. It was a big success with many creative chairs from very talented local artists from Walpole and surrounding towns. The fun and special event was last Thursday on the 7th. Our piece was titled "Boston Strong" and found a good home.
