The Red Inn Frame of Mind

This is an ongoing series I do (and also my wife Ann Gorbett) of The Red Inn in Provincetown on Cape Cod. It's a very popular destination in the good-weather season of New England. We show our work there and have done "many several" depictions of the inn. I am never bored of painting the building because there is always something new to explore and find—this is a very nice thing when doing a series.

Maine Rocks and Water

The next painting in the Rock and Water series...this is inspired by a recent trip to the Kennebunk area.

Rocks and Water... emerged and submerged

Interesting title? This painting is a kinda' experiment or exploration. I used different references but mostly did it from my head. I've been playing with rendered images, or at least representational somewhat, with flat surfaces. I believe the brain fills in the blanks... I"m still working on this idea and will hopefully be able to explain this "phenomena" more concisely, soon enough. I do realize I didn't come up this.
